Borterasz és Venyige Spa, Almagyar Érseki Dűlő, Eger

 

Az Eger melletti Nagy Eged-hegy lábánál elterülő szőlőben az AÉS pincészethez csatlakozóan birtokközpont és borterasz épül. A borkóstolókhoz készülő teraszt három kisebb kunyhó, a Venyige Spa és a terület sarkában egy kilátó építmény egészíti ki. A kunyhók a szőlővidék archaikus építményeinek viselkedését, arányait és anyaghasználatát követik, a terasz hajtogatott lemezei pihenésre és kóstolásra biztosítanak teret a festői környezetben. 

 

Dűlő

A patinás egri borvidék egyik évtizedeken keresztül parlagon heverő dűlőjének különlegessége az az ott talált ’érseki’ szőlőfajta, ami megihlette a helyi borászt és társait ezen több évszázados művelés eredményeként létrejövő érték megmentésére és bemutatására. Az újratelepített szőlőből utánozhatatlan bor készült, a dűlő pedig az ősi szőlőre, a sajátos aurájú tájra, vagy csak az ellazulásra fogékony vendégeket fogad.

 

Kunyhók

A dűlőn a szőlősorok közé kis építmények épültek: maga a borterasz egy fedett, nyitott fogyasztótér, amit minimál méretű alvó kunyhók, el-vonuló kilátó, valamint hűsölő medence terasz együttese egészít ki. A lépték és az anyaghasználat előképei a helyi középkori eredetű „lábas” kunyhók: kisméretű, bádog magastetős, vastag monolit földfalaival a szőlősorok közé búvó, abból csupán a tetőkkel kilógó, védelmet nyújtó és megpihenést szolgáló egyszerű építmények. A Borterasz formája vég-eredményben a hagyományos léptékű kunyhók összetoldásának a hozadéka, fedett-nyitott és szellős tere a nyári forróságot enyhíti.

 

Földbeton

A vidék meghatározó anyaga a tufakő, ami egyúttal a helyi pincék készítésekor, azaz a tufa sziklák kivájása során kőzúzalék formájában előálló hulladék is. A megépült építmények vastag falai e kőhulladék újra-felhasználásával készült, rétegesen rakott és manuálisan kevert döngölt földbeton falak, amely a kivájt pincék klímáját, falstruktúráját és anyagszerűségét idézik.

 

Újrafelhasználás

A hulladékként kezelt tufakő anyagon kívül egyéb szerkezetek, mint például az ajtólapok, az évszázados tégla- és cementlapok és külső járófelületek, valamint egyéb felhasznált berendezések mind a minimál költségvetéshez igazodó újrahasznosított anyagok. A Borteraszhoz kapcsolódó kézmosó ’vályú’, a rézcsövekből hajlított csapok, lámpák, információs rendszer is non-standard: nem a kereskedelmi forgalomban kapható termékek, hanem helyi és egyedi, az építés folyamata során született rendhagyó megoldások. 

  

A dűlő a természeté maradt: az ember csak vendég. 

 

Wine Terrace and Spa, Almagyar Archiepiscopal Wine Estate

 

Situated close to Eger, at the foot of Nagy Eged Hill, a wine terrace is to be built on the vineyard grounds belonging to the AÉS Winery. Serving as an ideal location for wine tastings, the wine terrace is complemented by 3 small huts and a lookout, located at the edge of the site. The huts resemble the archaic buildings of the wine region with their characteristic proportions and use of materials. The folded roof structure of the terrace provides a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenic view with a glass of wine.

 

The Vineyard

Deep in the majestic Eger wine region lies a long neglected vineyard, which is home to an exceptional grape variety, the “archiepiscopal” wine grape. The fruit of centuries of cultivation has inspired the local wine maker and his partners to preserve and present it to the public. The replanted grapes produce an unrivalled wine and the vineyard welcomes visitors who long for exceptional scenery, ancient grapes and relaxation.

 

Bungalows

Small buildings are nestled in between the rows of the vineyard: the wine terrace is a covered and open space, complemented by basic bungalows for sleeping, a lookout for gazing and a pool for cooling off. Scale and material draw on the local traditions of the medieval hut: a small building with a pitched tin roof and thick, monolithic earth walls. Concealed by the rows of the vineyard, with only its roof peeking out, it provides protection and a place to rest. Evoking the image of a row of traditional huts, the covered, yet open and airy space of the wine terrace offers shelter from the summer sun.

 

Earth Concrete

Tuff stone is a material characteristic of the area, also found in the form of gravel, the byproduct of carving wine cellars out of the stone. The thick walls of the buildings were created using this stone debris. The layered and manually mixed, rammed earth concrete walls cite the climatic characteristics, wall structure and material qualities of the excavated cellars.

 

Recycling

In addition to the discarded tuff stone, other structures such as door slabs, century old brick and cement tiles, external floor surfaces and other equipment are all recycled materials that fit into the minimal budget. The hand washing “trough” belonging to the wine terrace, the copper faucets, lamps and information system are all non-standard elements: they are not commercially available products, but local and unique solutions stemming from the design and construction process.

 

Thus the vineyard still belongs to Nature: we humans are mere guests.
